I am a member of the Smithland United Methodist Church. I learned to play guitar chords with a "teach yourself" guitar book at age fourteen. I learned much more by sitting on front porches in the county, where I knew music was being played. At first I sat in the back and tried to keep up. After all, you can't start at the top.
One day I met Terry at work. I had worked there almost fourteen years and never met him. Funny how everything is in God's time! Terry and I started meeting on Thursdays to play music after work. One day I was in Thompson's Grocery in Smithland and the cashier saw I had guitar picks mixed in with my change and asked if I played. She was Jeff's wife, Julie. Julie wanted me to meet Jeff, who knew Kenny, who knew Tim. I already knew Michael.
Low and behold, we all loved the Lord!! Coincidence? I don't think so! Now we have the chance to be the speakers for Christ. I don't intend to miss an opportunity. |
